Christopher Chang Christopher Chang

Greetings From Home

It's been awhile since we have spoken with you all. With the current situation and staying home being the best thing to do, I decided to give everyone an update on Chris Chang Photography. Also, I was on 5 day MC due to a sore throat which I had a couple of days ago. Little did I know that the 5 day MC also meant that I was not allowed to leave my house. (Punishable by $10,000 fine and/or 6 months jail) They really mean business. I had to forgo wedding coverage over the weekend due to this but the safety of our couples and the public have to come first.

There have been quite a few changes since the start of 2020. First of all, we moved into our new office at Paya Lebar quarters. For many years we have worked from home and met with couples at Hoshino coffee at Plaza Singapura. Usually, that worked very well for a time but from time to time we would not be able to find a seat or the place got really crowded and noisy. I decided that with the growing team and number of couples we meet each week it would be important for CCP to have a more permanent base of operations. After a brief search, we landed at Spaces@ PLQ. It's been a while since I had to go to an office to work. Last time I went into an office to work was when I was still in the advertising industry. It's nice to look forward to going into the office rather than dreading to do so. As much as I enjoy working for the office, during this season we are all hunkered down and working from home. Good that I ordered myself a new Secretlab Omega Chair for the long hours which I will be spent working from home during this season.

We have also had some awesome new teammates. Xu Hearn, Dong Sheng, Eskay & Delwin. They are part of our new sister company, The Wedding Express. With this new company, we hope to be able to serve a wider range of couples with different requirements for photography & Videography. The energy they share is infectious (No pun intended) and I am also driven to work even harder!

To address this difficult period for all of us. As the authorities have limited most public gatherings and celebrations to 10 Pax. From 7 April - 4 May this won’t be possible at all. It makes it very difficult for our couples to plan for their weddings and not to mention the couples who have to postpone their upcoming weddings. This creates a lot of uncertainty and most couples have placed their wedding planning on hold waiting to see how the COVID 19 situation here in Singapore unfolds. For us, there has been a sharp drop in the number of enquiries we field each day since the new regulation came into effect. Though this is worrying, we are keeping positive and working on things which we have placed on the back burner for the longest time. (Like writing this blog post.) However, I truly believe that we all hate the current situation, we are looking forward to when this virus period passes and we can begin to serve our brides and grooms as normal again.

Currently, we are offering the following COVID 19 postponement policies

COVID-19 Policies

1. We will offer postponement of the event up to 1 year from the scheduled event date.

2. In the event your selected photographer/videographer is not available, we will offer a suitable replacement at the same price.

3. Deposit is non-refundable.

4. Inform us at least 1 month in advance of an alternative wedding date.

This is truly an unprecedented time for us. I hope that we do not be driven by negativity and fear but stay positive. Though it's best we stay home, there is much that can be accomplished with a strong internet connection, a computer and a willing heart.

Alternative Wedding Rings to Give to The One

Every guy who has found the love of his life dreams of buying a sophisticated pair of wedding rings to symbolise the commitment he has for his partner. It’s the reason most guys spend lots of time searching for the best wedding rings available on the island.

However, due to budget constraints, not everyone can afford to purchase an elegant pair of wedding rings -- such as those made with fine metals and ideal cut diamonds. After all, the most gorgeous pairs are usually the most expensive ones.

So, where do you go when you want the best pair of wedding rings but don’t have enough savings to buy one? How can you give The One her well-deserved wedding ring if your budget won’t suffice?

Luckily, we know how to solve your problem. Instead of going for expensive wedding rings that are way beyond your pay grade, why not go for alternative wedding rings that are much cheaper?

While these alternative rings aren’t as elegant and glamorous as the pricey classics, they’re definitely the most practical options. After all, it’s the thought that counts -- and as long as you put thought into picking the rings, that makes them invaluable.

Here are the loveliest yet most affordable alternative wedding rings we found:

Venus Tears’s Purete

Besides being cheap, Venus Tears’s Purete is designed to last a lifetime, like the commitment you have towards your partner. It sports a classic look and is made from platinum, gold, and palladium.

It looks simple yet elegant. We guarantee that you’ll also like it for its comfortable edges perfect for daily wear.

Customers who purchased it in the past have noted its simple design and comfort, saying that it’s the right pair for couples who don’t like wearing shiny rings.

So if The One is understated yet polished, simple yet stunning, the Purete is the one to get.

Michael Trio’s Classic Concave

Michael Trio is no doubt one of the best shops for wedding rings and engagement rings in Singapore. And we believe that its Classic Concave pair is ideal for couples who want something attractive, but still very simple.

It’s made from 18K white gold, one of the best types of metal for wedding rings. You even have the options to your names engraved without additional price.

In terms of durability, there’s nothing to worry about because white gold is known to last for a longtime.

What’s more, if you purchase a pair online, you no longer have to pay the shipping fee. It will also be delivered to your address immediately -- no need to wait for days for it to arrive at your doorstep.

Joy Juwels’s White-Design-Engraved

Screenshot 2020-03-30 at 12.39.24 PM.png

Joy Juwels is known for its unparalleled craftsmanship and affordable wedding accessories. It’s the go-to shop for couples seeking cheap yet sophisticated wedding rings and engagement rings.

Its White Design-Engraved wedding ring is the cheapest one we could find, and we’d recommend it to couples who have a thing for vintage styles.

It’s a great option too if you want pizazz without too much bling. The engraving gives it amazing ornamentation that doesn’t depend on a shiny rock.

It’s made of 14k white gold metal with a polished surface finished -- which also means that durability isn’t an issue with this wedding ring.

If you’re curious to see what it looks like, you can sign up on their website for a free appointment. You can also use the chance to scout more wedding rings at their shop since they have a wide collection of alternative wedding rings.

Michael Trio’s Crisscross Ring

Screenshot 2020-03-30 at 12.42.49 PM.png

If you have some spare money but not enough to buy a pair of high-end diamond wedding rings, then check out Michael Trio’s Crisscross Wedding Ring. We think that it’s the perfect choice for couples who only want a few diamonds on their rings as a subtle detail.

It may be a bit more pricey compared to other options on our list, but it’s definitely more affordable than high-end pairs.

What’s more, its design resembles the infinity symbol -- which can also represent the undying love and commitment you both have for each other.

And that’s it for our list of alternative wedding rings. It’s easy to dream about buying expensive and glamorous wedding rings, but we also have to keep in mind that there are far more affordable options out there waiting to be explored -- we just have to be patient in looking for them.

We know how stressful it is planning for your wedding day, and we hope that our list was able to lessen the burden on your shoulders.

At any rate, if you’re still in the early ages of planning, there’s a huge chance that you haven’t even considered the transportation that will be used. If so, you might want to check out Singapore Limousine Services as it provides a wide range of services that include a wedding limousine service.

They may even be able to arrange a more exciting vehicle in lieu of the traditional limo. That way, you’ll have alternative transportation to go with your alternative wedding rings on your special day!
