In a perfect world, getting a professional photographer to capture all the golden moments during the actual day of your wedding day is a piece of cake. Sadly, there have been various horror stories involving pathetic quality, rude photographers and unreasonably huge additional costs.

Save yourself the headache of dealing with an unsatisfactory performance by doing some research before hiring a photographer for the actual day of your wedding. If you’re not sure what to look out for, then we have great news for you! Because we have come up with a handy list of 5 essential tips to help you choose the perfect photographer for your actual wedding day.

Check Out Your Photographer’s Reviews

Picture2.png

Would you eat at a restaurant that has nothing but negative reviews?

No, you would not.

Similarly, when choosing a photographer, it is important to make sure you check out his portfolio and reviews on his Facebook page and website. After all, you would want to hire a photographer who is professional, detail-oriented and also willing to go the extra mile to make sure he captures romance and love in still frames.

On the actual day of your wedding, you would want to rely on your photographer to capture all the important moments. After all, you would want to weep tears of joy, not anguish or frustration! So make sure you choose the photographer with loads of positive reviews and numerous 5-star ratings.

Browse Your Photographer’s Portfolio

Photography is a broad subject which covers a huge array of diverse niches. In this sense, each photographer will have his own personal style and preference.

Before you settle on a photographer for your actual wedding day, make sure you browse his portfolio and see if his photography style resonates with you. Going through his portfolio will also be telling of the types of experiences he has had.

Inquire About Camera Equipment

Picture4.png

Let’s face it – even the most skilled photographer would need the assistance of some handy camera equipment to capture the perfect picture on your actual wedding day.

Ask your photographer about the types of equipment he uses on the job. The most skilled photographer should be confident in using a variety of lenses as well as a handy camera or two from some of the leading brands like Sony.  The ideal photographer should possess enough equipment to take the prettiest pictures on the actual day of your wedding.

Some equipment our resident photographers depend on are their trusty Sony A9 (which they have two of!) as well as several lenses like the Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM, Sony 16-35mm F2.8GM as well as the Sony 90mm F2.8 Macro.

Make Sure Your Photographer is Trustworthy

Picture5.png

The best photographer is trustworthy and dependable enough to relieve you of additional stress and help you lighten the load.

Aside from checking out his reviews and portfolio, ask yourself: can you trust him to deliver?

Ensure that Your Photographer’s Prices Fall Within Your Budget

Picture6.png

Ah, yes. Who could forget about prices?

Pictures of your actual wedding day might be the most important memento that you and your spouse will take away from the romantic event. When checking out your photographer’s prices, try to keep an eye out for the packages and what is included in them. This ensures that you get what you pay for and that you pay for services that you definitely want.
